1. What Magento brings to this event?
The release of Magento 2.3
During MagentoLive Europe there was a lot of discussions about Magento Commerce 2.3. Accordingly, Magento Commerce 2.3 is expected to be released in November 2018. There are plenty of improvements and new functionalities in this update, including: PageBuilder, PWA Studio, Magento Payments, Multi-Source Inventory, Performance and Reliability Enhancements, Security Enhancements, Sales and Advertising Channels.
Magento PWA Studio
Magento PWA Studio was announced for the first time in Magento Imagine 2018. It is a suite of tools for building online stores with app-like experiences for Magento-native solutions. As Magento said, Magento’s PWA Studio enables merchants and developers to create reliable, fast and engaging mobile experiences. This will boost conversion rates and increase engagement. During MagentoLive it was confirmed that many retailers are on the edge of choosing PWA. With the release of Magento 2.3, the new Magento PWA Studio will also be made available.
Magento Multi-Source Inventory
Magento Multi-Source Inventory is one of the main features of Magento 2.3. Multi-Source Inventory helps merchants improve efficient operation by keeping inventory up-to-date across multiple physical locations directly from the Magento backend.
Amazon Sales Channel and Google Ads Channel
It’s worth mentioning that Magento will be integrated with Amazon and Google. The integration of Amazon Sales Channel makes it easier to sell products directly from your Magento store at Amazon. Apart from that, Magento has partnered with Google to build a Google Merchant Center and Google advertising channels integration within the Magento Admin. It is expected that all of them will be available in the first half of 2019.

Magento & Adobe Product
Many of those questions have been addressed during MagentoLive Europe, with Mark Lavelle (CEO of Magento) and Shantanu Narayen (CEO of Adobe) when they talked about the current situation and the future of Magento. In his keynote, Magento CEO Mark Lavelle confirmed that
Here’s what’s not going to change: our commitment to our customers, our commitment to our partners, and our commitment to our developer community.
Magento CEO Mark Lavelle said
However, It emphasized that it was important to make progress. Magento continues working to integrate their product in Adobe ecosystem and will launch sales & partnership program as soon as possible.
2. What Adobe brings to this event?
Adobe Experience Cloud and Magento Commerce Cloud
We all know that in June, 2018, just after Magento Imagine 2018 in Las Vegas, Adobe announced the acquisition of a leading commerce platform – Magento. This marks the next step in Magento’s journey to drive innovation across every aspect of commerce. At this MagentoLive Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe and Mark Lavelle, CEO of Magento gave insights into the future of Magento and Adobe.
Now, Adobe has 3 cloud systems including Creative Cloud, Document Cloud (for Individuals) and Experience Cloud (for Enterprises). “Experience Cloud” is a new platform of Adobe, aims to bring all of its digital cloud businesses together onto a single platform. Accordingly, Adobe announced the integration of the Magento Commerce Cloud into the Adobe Experience Cloud. This integration will combine the content management, personalization, and analytics capabilities of Experience Cloud with Magento Cloud.
Users of Magento Commerce Cloud will get access Adobe’s powerful commerce and digital experience tools like Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Target and Adobe Analytics.
The digital transformation is a requirement of our world that every company has to take seriously. You need the right content, targeted and constantly relevant while respecting the privacy of your customers. Every touchpoint is one way to win a customer
Shantanu Narayen said
Can Magento community be affected because Adobe works mostly with cloud?
No, actually Adobe has a lot of open source projects and they want to leverage the strength of Magento community also. Narayen mentioned Adobe’s purchase of Day Software (an open source-based content management company) in 2010 as an example in the power of collaborative communities. He said that the deal is “one the most successful acquisitions we’ve made.” Also, they want to learn more about open source for the future with the help of one of the strongest open source communities in the world.
The big goal for 2019 is “Harmonization”. Adobe and Magento will continue together to enhance shopping experience, innovate in e-commerce, and provide an open platform for our ecosystem of developers and partners.
If together we can provide tools to practitioners and C-level executives alike to create the campaigns, the engagement or the promotions that they want with their customers, then I think we’ll be doing what’s expected of us.
Besides all the Magento merchants and partners, Adobe partners have questions about the acquisition and its future roadmap too.
3. What Magestore gained from MagentoLive Europe 2018?
At this MagentoLive, we presented PWA POS for Magento 2 – our newly released Point of Sale built with Progressive Web App technology to our customers, partners, and friends.
For those who don’t know yet, this Magento 2 PWA POS is a best-fit solution for physical stores who use Magento system and want to sell faster. It’s native with Magento so all data is synchronized instantly across the system. So you can control everything in your Magento backend (including POS settings). It’s a one time payment for a lifetime use with unlimited users, locations, and devices.
We’re extremely happy when receiving the positive feedbacks on PWA POS from merchants and partners. They like the concept “Native” and how simple it is for installation as well as implementation & update.
We presented PWA POS to Switch it Pro
As for our partners, we had the chance to present PWA POS to Ryan Murden (Head of Business Development – Magento), Eric Erway (Magento Product Manager), or Ben Marks (Magento Evangelist).
We had a chance to talk to Ben Marks, Magento Evangelist
Meeting with Ryan Murden, Head of Business Development – Magento
They’re extremely impressive on what we have done and how PWA POS can improve shoppers and merchants’ experience. Surprisedly, at Magento Live Europe we had the pleasure to introduce our PWA POS to Thao Tran – a member of Google’s PWA technology development team (Global Product Partnership). She was impressed by bringing PWA technology into Point of Sale system. All of them give us more confidence to work on POS and enhancing the omnichannel experience of our product in the near future.
For the Magestore team, MagentoLive in Barcelona was definitely worth the trip. In just two days but we got numerous interesting keynotes and great talks to a lot of Magento agencies, our customers, and partners.
A big thank you to Magento Events team who create a fantastic event for Magento community. We also appreciate to all merchants, partners and friends that we had the pleasure to meet and talk to during these days in Barcelona.
